Become a Host-Family

Are you a music-lover, did you enjoy the finals of the Geneva Competition and the Prize-Winners' Concert? Join to become a host-family of the candidates of this year.

With its 200 members, the Friends of the Geneva Competition take care of the welcome of the candidates, their needs and requirements during the whole length of their stay, as long as they are participating in the various rounds of the competition.

Thanks to the availability of our host-families and their generosity, we are in a position to offer free lodging to the candidates, who are getting more and more numerous every year.

A host-family acquires automatically the status of a «supporter» member and is eligible for 2 complimentary tickets for all rounds of the competition, even in the case of cancellation by a candidate at short notice.

The Geneva Competition can become a vital stepping-stone for these young artists and the successful international careers of many former prize-winners are witness to the high level of the Geneva Competition, for example: Maurice André, Martha Argerich, Arturo Benedetti-Angeli, Victoria De Los Angles, Nelson Goerner, Heinz Holliger, Dominique Merlet, Sir Georg Solti, José Van Dam, Christian Zacharias or Emmanuel Pahud. And more recently : Silvia Carreddu (flut), Alexej Ogrintchouk (oboe), Le Quatuor Terpsycordes (string quartet), Aiyun Huang (percussion), Annette Dasch (voice), Rafael Rosenfeld (cello), Wal Ran Seo (voice), Louis Schwizgebel-Wang (piano), Ryoko Yano (violin),  Ryszard Groblewski (viola) or István Várdai, amongst many others.
