Uriel Vanchestein

Uriel Vanchestein resides in Los Angeles where he pursues a career as a film and television composer. While some of his latest film projects have been presented at Tribeca and Cannes Film Festivals, he is currently working on the popular Netflix documentary series Chef’s Table and Street Food. As a concert composer, Uriel’s music has been performed on four continents in such venues as the Verbier Festival and Carnegie Hall. Recently commissioned by the Orford Art Center for a piece premiered by the New Orford String Quartet, he was also asked to compose for the New York Woodwind Quintet, the New York Classical Players, the Harlem Quartet and the Fibonacci Trio. This year, he has been invited to be the composer in residence at the Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival where his new Song Cycle “Assonances” will be premiered by mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah.

As a clarinetist, Uriel is a laureate of the Geneva International Music Competition and the AudiMozart International Competition. He has appeared as a soloist with such orchestras as the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano, the Trois-Rivières Symphony Orchestra and I MusiciChamber Orchestra of Montreal. Also a founding member of the Boreal Trio, Uriel performs with the group around the US and Canada. The trio was recently invited to perform for Pro Musica of Montreal and the National Gallery of Arts in Washington, D.C. 

Uriel completed a Master’s Degree in Film Scoring at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor and a Master’s Degree from the Juilliard School.
