Udo Gefe began his musical career in 1969 and until 1977 he worked as a corepetitor conductor, worked as head of music and music director at various theaters. In that year he also began his career as a playwright at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Monaco of Bavaria. Subsequently artistic director in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Brussels, as well as the Opera House Basel and Frankfurt again. In addition, he was repeatedly active in Lied-Recitals with renowned singers such as Bernd Weikl, Günter Reich and Peter Schreier. He is active as an advisor to the theaters of Dortmund and Nurnberg in Germany.
