Jadwiga Rappe, Poland

Jadwiga Rappe studied voice at the Wroclaw Music Academy. In 1980, she won 1st Prize at the International Bach Competition in Leipzig. She leads a prestigious international career, performing in important European and American venues, including the Musikverein and Staatsoper in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Pleyel and Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, Royal Albert Hall and Covent Garden in London, Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Carnegie Hall in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington, but also in Geneva, Berlin and Jerusalem.

She has participated in renowned festivals (Festival d’Orange, Karlsruhe Haendel Festspiele, MDR Musiksommer, Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele, Linz Brucknersfest, Florence Maggio Musicale, BBC Proms) and worked with conductors such as Harnoncourt, Janowski, Haitink, Ozawa, Davis, Rilling, Chailly, Lopez-Cobos, Dutoit, Jordan, Penderecki, Maazel, Nagano and Rattle.

Jadwiga Rappe has recorded more than fifty CDs for various record labels. She is frequently invited to serve as jury member for voice competitions. Over the last few years she has taught a solo singing class at the Music Academy in Warsaw.
